How are you?

It's been a lovely week of settling into my new home- And Enjoying that Imbolc feeling of the spring gently starting to call us out of the depths of winter.  I write a little early this week due to various family logistics :)

RESTED

I write this little update fresh from… don’t laugh… a spa day.

Any of you reading this for a while will know how unusual that sort of thing is for me to say—but there we are, every dog has its day. And this particular day, was that day for me!

Those of you who are long-time friends of mine may be wondering if they let me in! Well, fortunately they did!  and it was so very lovely.

We chatted in steam rooms, bubbled in jacuzzis, swam in the pool, ate cream teas, and even drank pink prosecco. Now that I write this it all sounds a bit bougie—and perhaps a little foolish, but I can live with that :)  I feel like a new woman, all tingly and fresh as I write this, and it was a great reminder for me (the self-proclaimed queen of Lazy Yoga) that rest is indeed a magical, precious and deeply important thing.

MOVING IN

Other than my spa moment, it’s been a week of moving in: unpacking boxes, cleaning our old room, organising, hanging pics, and settling my family more and more into our new space. It’s been magical to have more than one room to live in, and to be able to experience all the support of the community, alongside what now feels like loads of personal space. It has been a big win for me and my little family, and I’m so grateful, happy, and relieved to begin really landing in our new life. It was a long time coming. Hallelujah!

RENOVATIONS CONTINUE

Of course, Ben and I have once again picked a project—an unloved little corner of the world to redesign and rebuild on a shoestring. But I’m enjoying seeing it become more homey every day, and I’m hoping that within not many more weeks, the renovations can really end and Ben and I can try just living for a while- fancy that!

REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS

  1. Where in your life could you allow yourself a little more rest—without guilt?

  2. What small comforts help you feel most at home?

  3. What would “just living for a while” mean to you right now?
